Testing Liner Lifting Tool
A creative engineering firm specialising in the design of customised mission equipment and temporary works asked us to come up with an idea for testing a Liner Lifting Tool. The target market is the nuclear industry in the United Kingdom. We developed an idea and the contract was awarded in no time.
Four integrated lifting points on the underside, hydraulically operated, were connected to their own weight and lifted with a gantry crane. After load testing, the tool was loaded for its next destination. DNV witnessed the test operation and inspected the equipment afterwards. A load of 525 tonnes was applied for 15 minutes.
